To Configure the List of Alternative Numbering Categories

A tag may have alternative namespace numbers associated with it. These numbers are typically used for project or plant specific names or references to external numbers.

Open the System Admin tab (View > System Administration).
Set the default scope.
Click the Maintain List Values icon .
Select Alternative Numbering Categories
The Alternative Numbering Categories tab opens in the Content pane.
To add a new category, go to the next available row and do the following:
1. Click in the Code field and enter a code for the category.
2. Click in the Description field and enter a name for the category.
3. If you want to have a one-to-one relationship between a tag and an alternative naming category, set the Left Cardinality and Right Cardinality fields to One, as shown in the image above.
4. If you want the current alternative names to be transferred from the current revision of the tag to the new revision, turn on Transfer on Uprev.
5. Click the Save icon at the end of the row to save the new category.

Tip: If you are adding or modifying multiple categories, you can save all your changes at once using the Save icon in the main toolbar. You can also delete a category by clicking the Delete icon at the end of the row.
